Lucy Phillips

Company: Abbvie
Job title: Senior Principal Pathologist
Bio:
Lucy Phillips is a senior principal pathologist at Abbvie, where her work focuses on Immunology research, principally in rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease. During her 18 years in drug discovery research, Lucy has successfully navigated the shift from traditional glass slide-based pathology to a fully digitized laboratory. She leads the image analysis team, who develop quantitative histologic end points for efficacy studies, biomarker quantitation and target validation studies using Visiopharm software. She also leads the Spatialomics team who perform high dimensional transcriptomics and proteomics assays on human tissues to reveal novel insights into disease pathogenesis and explore novel targets. Her talk will focus on ways the team have successfully integrated data across modalities and leveraged Visiopharm H&E algorithms to apply macro-segmentation to spatial images enabling a more detailed analysis of tissue compartments.
